Does the gun already have a recoil pad? I ask that because a lot of 243's don't come with a recoil pad. If not, I think there are some pre fit screw on recoil pads that add as much length as you will get from a slip on. Look at the Limbsaver web site and see what you can find for your gun.

Having said that, if you are handy with wood, you may be able to fashion an makeshift extender and cover it up with a slip on pad.

I have a youth model .243 and I would think the stock would be a bit short for an adult shooter. I have never looked into it buy i don't see why you wouldn't be able to swap a full size stock onto the rifle. I kind of like the shorter barrel of the youth model for getting into box stands etc.

GT,
Here are the measurements for proper fitting. Fitment Information (Stock Dimensions):
•Small: 4-5/8" x 1-1/2" x 1" L.O.P.
•Small/Medium: 4 5/8 x 1 9/16" x 1/2" L.O.P.
•Medium: 5" x 1-5/8" x 1" L.O.P.
•Large: 5-1/4" x 1-3/4" x 1" L.O.P.

If you decide to add a permanent recoil pad, I know I've seen some in the past some recoil pads that came w/ additional plastic pieces that could be added to the butt of the stock to further extend the length of pull.

length of pull.

Just to clarify for the OP, this is what you want lengthened. I think 14.5" is pretty standard, so I'd see if a regular length stock felt right, and get the appropriate pad to stretch your short stock to that length.
