I'm looking for a good gun case for my rifle. One you would trust for an across country hunting trip. I've looked at the Plano Field Locker case and other heavy duty cases in that $100-150 range. What do yall think? Thanks for the help

I have a SKB double rifle case, I think it's just under $200, but it is a solid case. I think they make single rifle cases that are right around the $150 mark.

Cross country...

Driving-soft case
Flying-hard case.

Can't go wrong with pelican or SKB. Even the higher end Plano are probably ok. Best thing to so is go check them out in person and see what you feel comfortable with. If it's going on a plane, I wouldn't skimp.

I have the Game Winner GUN GAURD double scopes rifle case on wheels for $109.99 from Academy. It's really nice for the price. Just as good as a Pelican.

But I the last time I went to Cabela's, they have their own brand, doesn't look too shabby.

Beginning to sound like a broken record, but I also have a Pelican. Let me mention one other thing for you to consider. I bought my Pelican (a little longer than a "shotgun" case) to transport rifles on a hunt to NV/CA. At the time of the hunt, the rifle case I'd had for a number of years was classified as "oversize" because of it's length. To Using that rifle case the airline could have charged me an extra $200 ONE way. To avoid this, I bought the shorter Pelican case. If you're thinking you may one day fly w/ your rifle(s), you may want to check ahead of time for the length restrictions. When I bought my Pelican, Amazon had the best price, plus free shipping.

Anybody ever use one of these? BIL has one and loves it, no huge case to try to steer around while tending to all your other crap.

Plano Airglide.
