No expirience with it, but that's probably going to be my next deer rifle purchase.

You're going to have people tell you it'll rust within a week and it's going to discharge with the safety on, so on and so forth. I, personally, think they're full of shite. I'll take my chances.

I'm pretty sure they've fixed all of those issues. Except for the coating they paint the barrel and actions with.

I bought an ADL earlier this year and cerakoted the barrel and action. Even converted it to a BDL by adding the floor plate. I wanna get the Magpul Hunter 700 stock next for it.

I bought one in summer of 2015. Beautiful weapon. Mine is in 270 win. I have had absolutely no issues and it was sub MOA out of the box (once I found the ammo it liked).

I would definitely recommend.

I've got a BDL and have always wanted the satin CDL. They're some of the prettiest rifles imo, along with the Ruger Hawkeye.
I don't get the hate for a detachable mag - I hate the hinged floorplate on the BDL.
Grew up hunting with a 7600 and just got used to being able to pull the mag out when clearing it.

I've never had a detachable mag. (Clip). I don't get the hate for either option though.

700 is a good gun. A lot of people dont agree with Remington politics, couple that with the reported issues from previous years...and it's obviously going to have some detractors.

It's a good rifle, just not 'Tikka good'.

I grew up shooting a 30-06 700 Classic. Nice rifle. That was before I really worried too much about MOA, etc. It served its purpose. From memory, it never really impressed me when sighting it in.

The first deer rifle I ever bought was a Browning A-Bolt Medallion 30-06. Slapped a Burris Fullfield 2 on it and it is MOA with Hornady 150 grain (non-Superformance). It will also shoot everything else pretty well.

The second deer rifle I ever bought was a .280 700 Classic a few years ago. Mounted a Leopold VX3 3.5-10 on it. Tried several different brands of ammo and it would never group consistently. Had it accurized by a good shop (bedded stock, Timney trigger, etc.) and still couldn't get near MOA with any ammo. The best it would do was about 1.3" at 100 yards, and even then it wasn't consistent. Sold it.

The third deer rifle I ever bought was a A-Bolt I Stainless Stalker in .280. It was owned by an individual, but didn't appear to have ever been fired. I had the stock refinished in Multicam Duratouch and the rifle Black-T'd. I put a Burris Fullfield E-1 on it. It is MOA with Federal 150gr. Power Shok (soft point). This is my go-to rifle now.

I also have a Steyr Pro Hunter Forester in .280. It is MOA with Federal 140 gr. Vital Shok (Nosler ballistic tip). Before I bought this one I almost bought a 700 CDL in .280. I'm glad I didn't.

I say all that to say this: you can tacti-cool and after-market-up a 700 better than most any rifle. But if you want out-of-the-box accuracy, in my experience, look elsewhere like Browning or Steyr.

I just ordered the sv version in ODG. My hand hits the scope some with the stock bolt.

"ETA2: "Vortex scopes are the best!" in 3... 2... 1."

I think Vortex catches some hate around here. The official rifle/scope combo of the OB has to be Tikka with Meopta glass right?
