Update called giles island they have a hand full of bow hunts left, but most are during the full moon. . They are discounted a little. Would ya'll still go with them? Is there another place with the quality of deer around the South that is worth calling before I schedule?

I would venture to say yes. Texas has plenty of free range hunting available if you are willing to go West

Hunt mid-day. Killed a few deer last couple years doing this on full moons.

Very true, just making the point that deer can be killed no matter the moon phase.

The quote they gave me actually isn't to ridiculous of a price considering I won't have to buy a out of state license or tags. I just don't want to spend $1400 if the deer are going to be full blown nocturnal.

Depends on the river stages. Lots of places along the river are called "...... island" but you can drive to them most of the time.

The last few years, we have killed several deer at our camp anywhere from 7AM-10AM during a full moon.
I don't put a whole lot of thought into moon phases, I just go hunt when I can.
