Are there any Ranger/tracker or aluminum bass boat dealers in the Nola area? I have gone through Google and it seems like there aren't any. Is that right?

Looks like you might be right. Did a search didn't see any dealers in the NOLA area after a Google search. I know they have one dealer that sells Xpress.

That's where I bought my aluminum ranger last year. Good people and much better then going to Cabelas.
BTW Ranger and Tracker boats aren't even in the same league.

Boat is for my old man. I am giving him a grandson so after years of busting his arse in the court room he has decided it is time to slow down and pass the fishing gene on He is looking at the Ranger RT188 with the 115 or the Tracker 195 TXW with the 150. The tracker is about 6k more but you get more horsepower. Which one would yall choose? We havent owned a boat for a good many years. He used to be a local sac-a-lait legend in his Cajun Special around Belle River back in the 80's(or so he says )

I'd recommend the RT188. But I'm very biased on that.

What would be the Xpress equivalent to the Ranger RT188?

He basically wants at least an 18' aluminum boat with minimum 115. The primary use will be along Belle River/Lake Verret area

I love my RT188, but I never owned a tracker so I cant compare the two.

There is no way in hell the Tracker is a better built boat than the Ranger. I am shocked that the sticker is more. I guess the motor and extra foot of length.

I would get the Ranger RT188 and ride off into the sunset. The Tracker Pro Team boats are still built with wooden decks and shite.

I have the tracker it's been a solid boat and I've had zero issues. However, if I were in the market today I would definitely go with the ranger or a war eagle predator. IMO the war eagle 861 is one of the best crappie boats on the water today. When I bought mine ranger wasn't producing aluminum boats.

You might also go check out bassboatcentral.com. It has a "tin boat" forum that have posters that own many different brands of aluminum boats.
