It is of my opinion that one must have the correct tool for specific jobs. When it comes to my personal preference I feel that the following list covers my needs in the broadest sense. What are your opinions as it relates to being well prepped in case crap hits the fan? 1. 308 browning bolt action with glass for a long gun, 2. Ruger mini 30 for defense, 3 Winchester 30-30 brush gun, 4. 12 gauge beretta, 5. 1911 browning .45 defense hand gun, 6. SW .38 banker special for CC

Looks pretty good, but if the brush comes at me I'm gonna go with a flame thrower.

The AK beats the AR platform hands down IMO due to the fact it is low maintenance... Mini 30 "if" one wanted to, could have glass installed, and has better accuracy IMO

A lot more 5.56/223 floating around the US than x39. That's also a lot of guns to be toting around. Get a Glock 17 and call it a day.

4 to 5 long range rigs with slick glass on top try to keep kind caliber for ammo stashing, 3 or 4 AR or AK setups decked out, dual 1911's, several shotguns, and of course some .22 around for marksmanship practice and small game. Bout 1500 rds of shotgun, 5000 plus AR AK your choice, 1000 rds long range ammo and few thousand .22. Thats basically what im sittin' on except ammo numbers and other gun numbers I ain't tellin' yall bout it all ya know

Skip the mini 30 and get a M1A/M14...

Can't go wrong with having 22 rifle in your collection as well.

If SHTF, between two people at a minimum I would want...

1 AR15
1 AK
1 12 gauge semi
2 polymer 9mm
1 Ruger 10/22
1 .357 Mag DA revolver
1 1911
1 Bolt Action .308 with proper glass

I had acquired all of this at one point but lost it all in a terrible accident.

brush gun??
sheeeit, the 308 can kill a bush just as well as a your 30-30..

that crap got started back in the 60's when the writers for Sports Afield and Field and Stream started looking for stuff to write about,,, and got samples from manufacturers to help "promote" more calibers, so they started to create more diversified uses.

Pump 12 gauge for when the Beretta fails, and .22 rifle for varmints and such, and you've got a pretty good collection there.
