Looking for live quail in the BR area. I have been told Angola sells them, but you have to buy a large amount (100?) I have checked craigslist but not much within this area. Probably have to drive to MS.

Thought I would check here in hope that someone knew someone, before I started calling people over 1 hour away.

Thanks!

There is a guy that sells them in BR. I don't have his number anymore but he puts classifieds in the paper.

I used to buy some from a guy in Goodwood. Can't remember his name. Found him on Craigslist.

Found some from a guy in Breaux Bridge, but he is out until next year. If you find some let me know, flight trained birds have been hard to come by as of lately. Guess I'm just gonna have to wait for woodcock to open and hope my girl figures them out then.

wickowick probably knows of them somewhere I got a feeling..

I have also heard a rumor about Breaux Bridge. Its funny, I am guessing that people "know a guy" but dont want to give out too much info least their guy runs out of birds due to demand. So you gotta get lucky and perhaps know people in the business, so to speak.

I think the best source would be Angola, but several people might have to go in together to make that worth it if the minimum is 100 birds at $4.50 each. Or buy a whole bunch and build a coop to keep them for several months each fall. That is what I am considering.

I am also told you can catch wild pigeons, but my wife is not enthusiastic about me trying to catch pigeons in a net at the park or by the lakes....

My neighbor used dove/pigeon. Somebody caught them anfd launched them out a big slingshot. They could only fly a short distance (don't ask me why).

Dog hunts like a champ now.
