Is it cheaper to buy new seats or have them reupholstered?

I have a 25’ veranda 2014
Dad in law gave to us

Nice boat, just needs the seat work Redone or new.

Any help would be appreciated

New oem seats won’t be easy to get and will take forever if you can get them. Just find a reputable shop to redo them and make sure you see their work first.

It's been a few years but I bought some replacements from Overtons. I was only replacing the seats in the front so size wasn't a problem.

You may want to price it out both ways. Reupholstery in Jxn, MS has gotten high as a cat's back, if you can find replacements in stock that may be cheaper.

If your cushions are good then I would just reupholster. It is expensive but if you break it all down and bring it to them it will be cheaper.

I don’t remember the website, but there is one place you send your old stuff too and they build them new. You staple them on. Maybe someone will chime in

My wife and I bought the air nailer, vinyl, supplies and foam last year from Amazon and recovered my 22' pontoon boat seats for a quarter of what I was quoted by an upholstery shop.

Watched a bunch of how to videos and did 1 seat cushion at a time. Took 3 weeks and we received several compliments on how they came out.

I have done both, on the same boat. I had the couches redone by a local shop. The 5 bucket seats I replaced for $250 each. 3 years later, the bucket seats are molded black, but the couches still look great. The shop used a much higher quality vinyl. The bucket seats came with cheap vinyl, and now I am gonna pay the shop to cover them with good marine vinyl, like they used on the couches.
