Emergency crews were called out to the collision and used foam on the plane after the collision with the animal caused a fuel leak. The runway is slated to be closed while crews clean up from the incident.

The passengers, who were slated to flight to Gulfport, were taken back to the terminal on buses. The airline is working to get them on other flights.

Not all that unusual to be honest.

Twice during my time in the AF we got called out to do structural inspections on aircraft that had deer hits on either take-off or landing.

Second one, an F-15 hit one on landing at Tyndall AFB. We go out to check it out and evaluate what inspections will be needed. Fricking bird hadn't even been washed off yet.
Without missing a beat my trainee pokes his head down the vari-ramp , turns around and screams "Who took the f-ing backstraps already?"
I still laugh to this day at his timing on that one.

In hindsight, an astute crew chief should have had a Bambi silhouette painted under the cockpit just for S&G's.
