Fellas,
Supposed to be taking the wife to Omaha if LSU makes it. If they don't I'm thinking of taking her for a week to Venice. Looking for recs of somewhwere that's decent to stay that has boat slip or nearby in the water?
Thanks in advance.

Your wife would want to stay in Venice for a week? I love to fish, but that I wouldn't even want to stay there for a week.

Since you’re asking where to stay I’m assuming you have never been there?!
There’s only two marinas Venice marina and cypress cove marina that have accommodations and slips.
You sure your wife is cool with being in Venice fishing every day because there’s nothing else to do or see besides that!

It's been there many years ago since I was there. Probably gonna be around four days or so. And she understands about not having much else to do. But she LOVES to fish, probably more than me

A week! You setting the bar high. Even during lockdown I could only manage 4 straight days at our camp down there. I imagine to achieve a full week, you would have to book an offshore trip on day 2 and 4 and get hammered so day 3 and 5 you can sleep in on the houseboat. Day 1 and 6 inshore with 7 pack up.
Geaux Tigers ! But please do it and report back.

* i would look for a rental either facing the river or the backside facing the marsh off hwy23. I def. Could pass time sitting on the porch and watching river traffic

Grand Isle is a much better choice than Venice. More options for lodging, restaurants, live entertainment, beach, boat slips, etc.

I mean, that depends on what you’re looking to do. If you want to actually spend your time catching fish then Venice is better.

If you want to do family stuff, then Grand isle is better.

Just got back from Miss Wahoo. Very nice. Like staying in a brand new house.

Only issue was the owners have cameras all over the porches, stay in the bedroom

IF you're staying a week, you might want to run back up to
Black Velvet Oyster Bar and Grill for supper one night. Pretty decent spot for that area.
