my old man saw 2 piebald deer (does) yesterday evening feeding in one of our plots on a pipeline. Said they looked to be 1-1/2 or 2-1/2 year old deer
Guy a few years ago near us said he saw one. Wondering if these may be her offspring? Is it typical for a piebald deer to have piebald offspring.

Would let the does walk, but would take a buck.
Very good chance the offspring will be piebald,

It's up to you and is rare especially in a wild setting regardless of species of animal. The gene is recessive thus for another offspring to be produced piebald either a piebald has to breed to a piebald, a piebald has to breed to a normal deer that carries the gene for piebald or two normal deer that carry the gene for piebald have to breed together. In each instance the odds of producing a piebald are drastically reduced. I would say to see two at one time or in a general area like that is astronomically rare!

Yeah. That's why I'm thinking these 2 deer are twins

A few years ago I was hunting Elk in Meeker, CO. I noticed every outdoors and hardware store we stopped at had a picture of a Piebald Mulie with "Do Not Shoot" attached. Pretty good idea I thought.

We have a piebald dos on our place. Was told that would be my butt if I shot her. She's been around at least 4 yrs. this is the first year she's been seen with offspring.
Saw her in Sept with one fawn. Have since seen her and have multiple pics of her with no fawn. Sure wish she'd have a bunch of bucks
