Need a pellet gun for eliminating sparrows and starlings from purple martin house. Also for snakes and other small vermin. Recommendations? TIA

Gamo for break action, Benjamin Marauder for repeater. The Benjamin is a bit pricey but the Gamo you can score for around $150 depending on model.

Budget?
I have a Crosman Nitro Venom (.22) that I picked up on Amazon for about $130 a couple years ago. Pretty solid break barrel gun. Very accurate and effective up to 50 yards.
If you are willing to shell out more money, Hatsan 125 Sniper Vortex runs about $300. Another break barrel, but it is better made, and significantly more powerful and accurate. I have the .22 and it easily takes down large raccoons and opossum.

I second the Crosman Nitro Venom in .22
The scope it comes with is pretty cheap but its plenty for what I use it for and I was surprised by how accurate the gun is.

Gamo under lever. RWS side lever. These should be a little more accurate than the break barrel spring piston rifles. Whatever you get, experiment with different pellets until you find the right one for your rifle. Pyramyd Air is a great place to start.

I bought the Ruger Airhawk because I saw it on sale one day.
I would not recommend it for a highly accurate gun.
It is .177 and has plenty of power but I don't think that it groups very well.
It will put you in the general area of where you are aiming but not spot on every shot.

If not on a budget, air arms makes springers more accurate than any mentioned above. The fit and finish are a work of art. They are a little heavy, though.

Jesus.
They make a 9mm, .45 and .50 cal air gun?

I have a Ruger Impact in 22 which is a made by Umarex 22cal piston rifle. Pretty accurate. Groups well when using the artillery hold which is a must for these spring powered rifles. Will punch clean through a 1" thick pine board. 177 will shoot flatter and give you more range but less power for anything bigger than a bird or squirrel.
