They should be ok over there, much smaller boats run in those areas and the there will be little traffic besides the weekend. Tell them to ask around at the camps someone is running lines and can point them in the right direction...

His friends grandpa is a main stay down there. He gave them some pointers also. I was just looking for ideas. My baby boy ran lines with him yesterday and caught about 15 blues.

I will admit that Daddy is nervous. They want to do all this on their own. Kids growing up is a mo'fo when i am here just getting replays.

Tell them to run lines cltithes the camp. It is less work. Ask any local.

They can check lines frequently w/o you worrying about them crossing too many unfamiliar bodies of water.

Ivory soap bits on trot lines you can buy at Walmarks.

They'll kill it without getting killed.

ETA: WTF is clithes? I meant to type 'close'.

Mamas gonna mama.

I shouldn't tell you not to call him.

But I will.

Don't call during peak fishing hours.

Call when you know your loved one(s) should be back at the ranch decompressing.

Just like fishing, parenting is just being in the right place, at the right time, with the right lure.

Ivory soap is the right lure for blue cats in that area.

If they do what I posted, you'll have to learn them the ways of cutting the filet.

In all my 40 years I have never used soap. I need to try it.

Use cheese blocks for traps, Shad for jugs and whatever i have for limb lines

Perfect. Aluminum and bombproof.

If they can swim and pack the regulated amount of vests, they can survive becoming capsized.

Make sure they understand that if they go out on the weekend they WILL get stopped. There will be lots of boats going to the lake, tell them to hitch a ride, but not to drive...

They will be there until Thursday, then come home. Ball practice screws up their extra activities.

With that said.. youngest boy has tourny in Hammond this weekend. Me and Momma just might go there as a get away.

Ivory soap is cheaper, less stinky and easier to cut than anything else I've ever heard about in that area.

I put in at Freds all the time so I have to know the significant going-ons of that part of the Amite.

In short, boys will be boys.
Education, instruction and threats only go so far.
