Check out this paddlefish my brother and his bud caught. It was weird because it had both of their lines in its mouth at the same time. Weighed 45 pounds.

yes, it is a very old fish...I have only seen pictures of paddlefish that size...never seen one that big in person...

I used to see them on occasion in north LA...they look strange as hell when they are feeding...

They didnt realize what they had caught until later because they had never seen one. Im surprised they caught it since those fish dont really feed on bait like that

right, I think they just kind of swim along with that big gaping mouth open trying to filter our plankton...

not sure how, but people do catch them from time to time...

I hear they are pretty damn good to eat, too...can't remember who told me that, though....

Looks like a "snagging" scar. Where people put a giant treble hook on a line and just rip up on the line and snag whatever they can.

that would be my guess too...not legal in some states, but very common in some locales...

Went snagging below the dam with a Cherokee neighbor of mine when I was still in Oklahoma. Landed a 40 pounder. Dude showed me how to clean it and it actually tasted nice. Reminded me of big arse swordfish steaks.
