Looking for a recommendation for a walkon or shared expense (at least I think that is how they are referred) charter for 1 adult and 2 kids (16 and 11) in orange beach for august 1?

(also info on when red snapper season ends over that way?)

TIA for any recommendations of charters or general info....

Are you talking about head boats/party boats? Or something smaller that would only be 6 or so people and you just dont know the other half of the charter?

I can't remember which boat I went on but it is a good time. Just be prepared for some frustration as there are people on there who have no clue what they are doing and tangle up lines quite frequently.

I guess more party boats that charge $100/$200 per person range and there are many people on. I have used Action Charters before but they are booked that day.

Also, is Snapper season even still open???

It has been extended till August 6th. The bite has slowed down quite a bit. I went out for about 5 hours Sunday and got 1 bite. Only thing I caught was a buzz. Oh well. Better than sitting at home!

Just know those are a mess going into it. Bunch of tangled lines and fishing spots that have been hit hard by a ton of people all season. Also, a lot more time riding than fishing.
