I'm still in the market for a bass fishing boat. Still looking really hard at some tracker boats, all welded, 40HP type boats.

However, I am also finding some fiber glass boats that appear to be in great shape and have good prices. What I'm not familiar with (what I mean is I have no clue) is the brand name and quality.

I'm currently checking out a 1988 Winner 1660 Tournament with a 60HP Mercury.

What are your thoughts on the Winner brand?

Here is a link to the listing I'm looking at:

Don't know alot about them. But I do know they don't make them anymore.

They made a pretty fast boat back in the day and made a lot of fish and ski types rigs. Just go over the boat with a fine tooth comb and really check out the wood that I am sure is at least in the Transom of that rig. If done correctly you won't have any issues, if not done correctly the wood will have started to rot some by now and the transom will be a weak spot. Motor is new so thats a good thing. Looks cared for so thats always a plus.

you might be able to find a good pre-owned deal if you keep looking hard enough. Check the LOUISIANA SPORTSMAN CLASSIFIED SECTION. YOU MIGHT FIND A GOOD DEAL THERE.

A boat is a big hole in the water that you throw money in. When you finally through enough in it, it'll do what you want to do for a little while, and then it needs more money. Lather, rinse, repeat.

ETA: I have a 1983 cajun performance fiberglass. I LOVE it when it acts right, and want to roll a nuke under it when it doesn't. You will have electrical issues with an old boat, which are not hard to fix with a lil elbow grease. The motor will have minor issues every now and then that you won't be able to figure out to save your life, it might blow up, the trailer will act up, and you'll catch a SHITLOAD of fish when it acts right. You will learn the definition of a love-hate relationship.

My BIL has a 20 or 21 ft Skeeter that has a 150 on it and that MF will fly. Early 1990's he got for a hell of a steal for 1500$ with a trailer. When he bought it I told him, damn you, I would have bought that boat in a heart beat.
