or receive as a gift. dont really know where else to post this. figure this is the best place.

Glock 22: Ive heard nothing but good things on this handgun. Reliable and rugged. I have a Beretta px4 but want to add another handgun.

Benelli Ultra Light Semi-Auto Shotgun or Benelli Cordoba: Dont currently own a shotgun.

Armalite 15: always wanted one dont know if its worth the price though.

Smith & Wesson M&P15-22 - A1 Style Comp Rimfire Semi-Auto Rifle: seen one for pretty cheap. just a nice looking plinker. kids could shoot this easily but I also have a marlin 22 that they shoot.

anyways thanks for the opinions.

I also prefer the Gen4 over the Gen3 glocks, mostly b/c of their larger mag release. I can take or leave the interchangeable backstraps.

The ar 15-22 with a suppressor and subsonic rds is the most fun gun I own.

If you're using it for hunting, check out the SBEII or Vinci too. If youre using it for sporting clays, check out the Ethos and the Montefeltro too.

Civiltiger just bought a Montefeltro 20ga and I am wanting one of the 20ga semis pretty bad. I just csnt decide which one I want.

for 223/5.56? You can find them for much less than 1k. The Smith and Wesson Sport is going for around $700.

If you want a full size Glock, get a 17. No reason to get 40 anymore

Both of these really kick arse. The Cordoba is my Benelli rep's favorite gun. I'd be stoked with either, but get Cordoba. I want a 28ga Legacy or Ultra Light down the road

No. paying for name with most models. Daniel Defense M4V7LW if you want premium ($1400), and Sulzer MLR15 or Mk1 if you want bang for buck (900/1000)

Cordoba is fine for both situations, unless he needs a 3.5in gun to duck hunt. It is the ultimate hybrid gun and is comfortable in a blind, an upland environment, or a range.

Not that there is anything wrong with the ones you listed (obviously), but if he wants a gun to do it all, he made a good choice.

Cabela's has a DPMS Oracle for $499. I can't speak to the quality of the gun, I've never owned one.

Advancements in ballistic technology have come far enough to where a 147gr 9mm is right there with a 180gr 40. Check out the gel tests on LuckyGunner.com. 147gr Federal HSTs are very tough to beat The marginal increase in performance from a 40 does not come close to justifying the decreased mag capacity, snappier recoil, and slightly higher ammo cost.

Only thing in 40cal worth having is a 10mm IMO

Benelli Ultra Light

I have killed quite a few quail and pheasant with one in 28 gauge. Simply fantastic.

so your saying the g22 has a little bit more kick to it than the g17? I assume because of the higher grain count.

That and more powder. It is a pretty high pressure round. Also, you could buy a g22 and just buy a 9mm barrel for it if you want both.
