My dad was going through some things and pulled this old call out.

I dont know much about it and cant find much info about it.

Thomas 166-D

Thought it was pretty cool, although its extremely akward to blow (twss) and sounds like shite

Nice call, Pop.

OleGeauxt has a nice old school duck call. Maybe he will let you blow on his one day.

As tempted as I would be to sand and tune it to sound right, I would probably just leave it be and admire it on my shelf

He has an original Duck Commander. Rumor has it that OleGeauxt whispered something in Phil's ear after hearing the sounds of that call that coerced Phil into making duck calls for a living and walking off the football field leaving the offense of the Bulldogs from Louisiana Tech to the hands of Terry Bradshaw.

Thomas Game calls is still in business.
quote:

Thomas Game Call Company was founded by Dwight E. Thomas in the early 1950's. He started by making his first production call in 1955 and this call was a wooden predator call known as the #141. That call was advertised in the Sport section of the Lubbock, Texas Morning Avalanche Newspaper in September of 1955 and a new game call company was born. The company was was first known as Thomas Animal Calls and originated in Fort Worth, Texas and in 1964 Mr. Thomas moved the company to Irving, Texas. In 1968 Mr. Thomas moved the company to Winnsboro, Texas where he manufactured and sold wooden calls nationwide. In 1980 he designed molds and began manufacturing a high quality line of ABS plastic hunting calls from crow calls to varmint calls to quail calls to the high quality Double Reed Duck call known as “Black Magic”. He built these plastic calls with the same superb sounds of the original wood calls. The company continues with the manufacturing and selling of high quality calls to this day under the management of Paula Thomas and John Gullo. - See more at: LINK
