Im contemplating getting a camper top for my truck. I used my brothers while he was out of town and it was very very useful. what do you guys think about how this looks?

This is my truck with my brothers camper on it.

If I bought one It would be like this one

I would add a roof rack on top of the camper similar to this one

I like the way they look, especially on your truck. I've got no use for them though since I'm always hauling gooseneck trailers or have an ATV or other stuff in the bed. If you don't need to use your bed for big things it would be great to be able to lock up all your crap.

any time I haul the 4 wheelers I use a trailer, so that wouldnt be a problem.

It'll look good imo. Nothing wrong with having extra space and now your truck bed could be a shelter in a pinch. Roof rack is a good idea since your kayaks will take up space.

As long as you use it to cover things for a short time they're fine. It's when you leave all kinds of crap in your bed because they are covered is when they become a problem.

I figured that. It would be nice to be able to throw hunting/fishing/camping equipment in the bed of the truck without having to be concerned with people stealing your shite.

Unfortunately Im the only guy in our riding group with a vehicle capable of hauling all our crap. It's not uncommon to have 5 4 wheelers in the enclosed trailer, 1 in the bed of the truck, plus about 1000lb of gear, gas and other crap. Pulling the loaded trailer to Mudfest this weekend I got 9mpg. I need better friends.

Looks good on your truck. If you've got somewhere to store that big thing when you're not using it, I'd go for it.

Looks good but don't even worry about others' thoughts if YOU like it- especially if it has some function value.

I've never been a huge fan of campers but on certain trucks it looks good and I will def say that about the way it looks on your truck.

Very effective in bad weather/ need to pass out in the bed of the truck situations IMO.

I was never a fan, but they do look best on diesels. I like the one you said you'd get with the big solid window. The roof rack is a good idea, and I think it looks good with it on.

thanks for the input guys. I have a few other things I want first but I think I'm going to try to get one before hunting season. My brother is going out of the country for a few months so I may use his again.

he went to India for 3 months and that's when I found out I liked his so much.

I couldn't have one on my truck, but it seems like a very practical thing to have if you don't often put big shite in the back of your truck. There are times I wish I had one.

I used to dislike them but they look ok on certain trucks. I really like the look of lifted excursions and I think,if done right, my truck could have a similar offroad look. Not that I would be doing it for the looks but that's something to consider.
