Everyone has good info,I should have taken better pics! It would be considered river soil. They'll both probably come down soon. Got a couple of pecan trees that will be downed too.

Good call on the boxelder. I just glanced at the leaves and not the stems. I've been out of the woods too long, but they are everywhere

Just goes to show you lose it after a while. It's been 5 years since I got out, and I'm already missing some of the most common trees around

To me, box elder is notorious for the leaves looking like poison ivy.

Hackberry and box elder guess, more likely associates. If the first tree is a water oak,there may be old acorns on the ground. Water oaks can have lots of leaf variance. Both trees have poor vigor. Hammer is right, a distant pic of a trees branching and of its silhouette helps in identifying, especially in the winter.
