I have a 2006 gmc sierra that the passenger blows hot air while the drivers side continues blowing cold. I just replaced the blend door actuator under the glove box and the problem continues.. what's the deal? This Louisiana heat is killing me! Please help.

Common problem with several possible causes. It is intermittent when doing this?

There are two actuators. The one on my old 05 Tahoe was way up in the dash. Had to take the airbag out and everything. That had a center console in it
They are also very picky about how you put them in. Did you match it up perfectly with the old one? Did you run through the cycles of hot and cold a bunch of times? Also, I have heard stories of a bunch of them being bad out of the box.
Can you hear it switching?

If you turn the ignition off and start the truck again does it come on or does it never come on?

How do you know which actuator to replace? I have the full center console but I only replaced the one under the right side glove box.
It had to be matched up it only went on one way. I can't hear it switching. Where should I be listening for a switch and when?
When I turn it off and back on it will blow cold again for about three minutes before going back to hot.

Whatever side is fricking up, replace that one. This is a good site with pics LINK
Cycle it hot/cold, turn truck off, cold/hot, a/c on/not. Rinse and repeat. I had to do that a bunch of times each time I replaced them
You should be able to hear like a little thump around the glove box when you switch them.

So I disconnected the battery for about ten minutes and cycled through the settings.
It ran cold for the longest it has in weeks. I'm about to take a trip from Rayville to baton Rouge so I'll report back in a few hours. I'm praying it stays working!

HAMMERTIME NAILS IT. I just fixed my 04 Yukon with the driver side blend door actuator. takes about 20 mins to replace. YouTube is your friend. My A/C would be doing just fine, I heard clicking, then hot air on the drivers side and continued cold on the passenger side would ensue. Sounds like your issue as well.
