Anyone bought/used this scope... for $450.... is this a decent enough scope for must deer hunting scenarios?

ive used several nikon scopes, they have all been very goood. Im a leupold guy though.. but i have several prostaff scopes on some rifles. No issues at all. As far as nikon 7, zero experience. If you like the app then go for it... but do you really "need" it or use it that much? We have gotten by just fine without that app over the years. Im sure you could get a vortex cheaper, that will give you the same results. Just depends on if you want/can afford to spend the cash on the 7 and have the extra gadget lol.

edit... now that i think about it, doesnt their app work with any of their scopes that have bdc? You could get a regular $200 prostaff with bdc and be able to use their app i believe.

vortex i was looking at was either $600-$700 range, so prostaff 7 is cheaper.

i can't find anything about spot on working on any other brand scopes.

i was talking about it working with any nikon scope with bdc. Like the original prostaff with bdc. Not other brands.

okay.. im with ya now. Well its all about what you want. Nikon does have great customer service i know that. I had one original prostaff stop working right after several years. Sent back to nikon and they sent me a brand new scope no charge. The warranty is great. I have zero experience with vortex though i have heard great things about them. I normally just buy nikon prostaff for cheaper guns like my 30-30 and 22-250. And put leupolds on my more high end guns. Just look at a lot of reviews and decide. I know nikon and leupold have lifetime warranties (im sure vortex is similar). Just decide if you want to use that app or not

well you'll set your rifle, bullet, scope etc into it. You'll then let it know how you zeroed your scope, distance, zoom power etc. As you adjust your zoom and distance, it tells you how the BDC marks adjust. Evidently zoom power changes everything on shots. Weird shite.
