Need some input on tire size and weight with MPG

I am looking into getting a set of 37x13.50x20 tires and right now i am running a 35x12.50x20. My question is is the 37's i am looking at weight 80 lbs a piece and the 35's i am running are 90 lbs a piece, I know less weight will make gas mileage better but wouldnt the size still affect the MPG without a gear reduction?

yes and no, it takes a lot more power to maintain speed , but if you are on level or downward slopping ground you get better mileage

Right now i am running those Black Bear M/T's which is a Toyo clone.
This is what the website shows the weight of the Blackbears at and the tires i am looking into are Gladiator X-Comps, pretty good looking tire at a good price

Kingpin in Prarieville has the Gladiators at a damn good price, a 35x12.50x20 is $1000.00 i think

McDonald tire on Florida has bf Goodrich for like 940 including install. I got some Patagonias for 823 for four including alignment (32x12.5x15)

i have 37's, 6in lift deleted, upgraded turbo, tune etc. and still only get 16 mph on a good day with the wind at my back on the freeway.

So what kind of mpg are you currently getting? What kind of lift?
Posted on 2/15/17 at 11:36 am to lsu xman
i get 13.6mpg with 37's and a 6inch rough country lift.
though i'll likely move down to airbags and 35's when i get my fifth wheel.
