what in the actual frick?
Did you already have your mind made up before posting this thread because that is probably the worst choice of all the $5000 and lower mowers you can buy.

No I didn't..I thought gravely was a good mower???

I'm sorry..my neighbor has a gravely too.. the people seemed more willing to help and more concerned in the process..

Man do I need to go back and just get the hustler?

wonder which model he got because the one for around $5000 i see has the identical motor and hydro pumps yours has.

ZT XL 48 915162 Kawasaki® FR691V 23 HP/726 CC Hydro-Gear® ZT-2800 Transaxles 3.8 gal (14.38 L) 6.5/3 mph (10.5/4.8 km/h)

Gravely ZT XL

Price: from $4575
Decks: 42 to 54 inch
Engines: 21.5-25 HP

I'm sure the 42" with a Kohler is $4575.
A 48" with Kawasaki motor is probably north of $5500

For the money i would not buy a Gravely.
You're buying a homeowner mower. They're not all that great but is K&D too far of a drive for you? It's on Airline HWY.
You will be saving over $2000 for a mower equipped exactly the same as the Gravely.
Gravely is a damn scam

Gravely and Exmark are both overpriced for what you get. Theyre not junk but they arent on the same level as other ZTRs in the same price point.

Like I said earlier too the Gravely is heavy as hell for no reason.

Congrats. You just bought an Ariens from Home depot.

Good luck.

I have 4 ZTRs because I manage a lot of repo houses for banks plus my rentals and my guys use my mowers a lot. I have a cub, toro, and 2 fastracks though only one is the SD. The SD is the only one I bought new because its mine. My workers tear up the other ones so I buy used for them. I test drove Gravely, Badboy, and Exmark before buying my SD and I just feel the Hustler is the best bang for the buck as does every review site out there.

Next year Im going to turn my SD over to my lead guy and get an X-one or x-onei maybe but it will be another Hustler for sure.

I understand...thing is would that same dealer worked on that ariens?? Probably not..next question you gonna ask is, is that dealer that supports mine worth the extra grand..Who knows..it's worth some of it though..I understand I paid a little more...I'm sure it's too late now being I just mowed my yard with it..
