Yup. Trying to train Sophie not to be scared of guns so she can come on a duck hunt. She's an amazing retriever.
My stupid arse dog got all excited on New Year's when we were shooting fireworks. He must've thought they were gunshots and was running around like a wild man.

Never had to gun train him, but maybe you could start with clapping by her ears, then go to a BB gun, then 22.....and progressively get louder

I am so ashamed that I am attached to my wife's spoiled rotten chihuaha and morkie; they insist on sitting on my lap every night and I try to resist, but they beg and whine.

As an aside, several years ago my wife were driving in the Bywater area of New Orleans and I commented on two men walking those designer dogs and I told her that "they must be gay". She replied, "Well, you take the dogs for walks also".

I wish that article had a way to break a dog from being aggresive toward the shooter around gunfire. My catahoula goes ape shite when we're shooting to the point of running and jumping at the barrel. Ya'll have any ideas on how to break this behavior. I have the shock collar but we dont go shoot enough to make it a regular routine.
