Still love watching the 1st Duck Commander movie with Coco and Phil. (I think it was the first one). A NorthLa and SouthLa baw shooting the shite. Two very ingenuitive rednecks.

Thanks for the input there. I was looking at their website the other day. I want to make sure to not skimp on the boat that way if I end up wanting to eventually upgrade or change motors, the boat will last long enough for that.

I'm beginning to realize that with duck boats you can get cheaper new ones/good used ones for decent prices or keep going and all the way up to paying the amount a vehicle would cost. Like anything else in life I guess. But I'd think buy once cry once is the best motto here.

Do most of them come with a trailer packaged into the price? (assuming you either did or did not get the motor from the same dealer?). Also, besides registering it, are you required to take boaters ed as an adult in LA? I mean I would plan on it anyway but wasn't sure. Used to drive gulf boats down on the coast as a kid before Katrina ruined everything but I haven't ever driven a freshwater flat bottom boat.

Thank you. Was planning on it anyway, but wanted to make sure. Way too many ways to drown duck hunting with boats, waders, and decoys rigs.

have owned a 16/36 godevil duck skiff

I have a 1444 flat bottom with 23 hp LT.

My understanding is long tails perform best with long, skinny hulls.

How stable is the duck skiff? I’m interested in them.

Stable enough I guess. I wouldn’t go standing on the gunwale. I drive it standing up and I liken it to riding a surfboard. Takes some getting used to, but in the 9 years I’ve owned it, neither me nor any of my passengers have fallen overboard.
