Talked to a guy about getting a replica mount of the tagged redfish I caught in October. 18$ an inch and it was 22"

You think if I have some a couple pics of a nice bass that I could get someone to estimate the measurements and get a decent mount of it?
I would love to have a mount of the 8-9 pounder I caught 7 years ago.

But the replicas sometimes look really fake.
Its a crap shoot...Although they can repaint them if they look bad.

I'm sure the fish was at least 8 pounds and I think that if he is able to get some reliable measurements from the pictures then I would be happy with a decent mount. I kick myself now cause I didn't even think about getting any measurements at the time.

Only reason I didnt release mine and get a replica was I had a double treble hook bait and the second hook pulled some meat out above the eye.
I was afraid the fish would just die anyways.

The only reason I didn't keep the good one I caught was because the owner of the pond was home and was watching us fish and I asked if I could mount it and he said no, please throw her back. I did like a respectable guest.

No sense in keeping big bass anyway in my opinion unless they aren't going to make it...

I usually throw back everything over 3 lbs.
