mosquito bite question

I got bit last night on my head right behind the ear. Today it is def. swollen right behind my ear on my head.
It seems like i always swell up some when i get bit around my ears. When i get bit on my arms and legs, nothing really happens.
any theories as to why i swell when i get bit on my head region?
any suggestions on how to reduce swelling ASAP?
