I posted this on the OT, but I figured most here would also find it interesting.

A South African hunter is believed to have been eaten by crocodiles after human remains were found inside two beasts.

Scott Van Zyl, 44, vanished last week after going on a hunting safari with a Zimbabwean tracker and a pack of dogs.

The father-of-two, whose company runs hunting trips for foreign clients, is thought to have been eaten by crocodiles on the banks of the Limpopo River in Zimbabwe.
quote:

A rescue team of helicopters, divers and trackers combed the area while friends gave out missing posters in villages and to fishermen along the river.

Mr Van Zyl's footprints were later spotted leading to the river bank and trackers found his backpack nearby.

Sakkie Louwrens, who was part of the search team, said police suspected two Nile crocodiles may have eaten Mr Van Zyl. 'We found what could possibly be human remains in them,' he told The Telegraph. Read more:

Honestly, I would rather go that way, than laid up in some hospital ward being eaten up by pancreatic cancer or some shite. He died like a man, with his boots on, doing the most dangerous job in the world. Tip of the hat. Good hunting.

to each his own, but I just don't see the allure of that type of hunting. Not opposed to it, just don't get the draw. Oh well, old boy died doing what he loved.

Except for the being eaten alive part.

And we are all meeting up tomorrow to plan our trip to South Africa. I'll make sure to let everyone know to not piss in the river.

I've said the same thing to people when I mention I sometimes snorkel where there are known to be gators.

However, I fully realize if at some point I'm tangled with a gator my life philosophy might change at that moment
