not much help but a 91 z71 was my first truck, got it in 02 and my dad and I worked to fix it up. Probably the best time I had with my dad, great memories. Hope you and your sons have the same

Thanks built alot of cars and trucks in my life, this was my dad's truck and then mine for many years and got a chance to buy it back so alot sentimental value, plan on keeping it this time, but checking this question on forums keep giving opposite answers

My brother had a Z71 92 or 93 and changed the grille out. I don't remember changing anything but maybe the headlights or side marker lights. That has been 20 years ago and I could be wrong. Seem to remember it being kind of loose in there though.

Core support no, but if I'm not mistaken the front bumper brackets need to be changed to accommodate for the bottom filler panel for the newer style grille!

I have a '90 GMC myself and have spent much time on Chevy truck forums. I'm 99% sure if you have the newer bottom filler panel you're good to go. Problems arise when you try to install the newer grille with the older filler panel.

I could be wrong, though.

Try fullsizechevy.com or gmt400.com for the definitive answer.

Here's mine BTW

'90 Sierra 5.7L, 2/4 drop on 22" IROCs, Cowl Hood, Halo Projectors and LEDs.
