I just ordered one of these guys. Question, is this safe to have set up inside of a bathhouse? Meaning I'm pretty sure the pilot isn't always lit, it just auto lights when there's running water. Just want to make sure we'll be safe, I know we need to vent the exhaust fumes out though.

I should say... Technically no they should not be inside. But theoretically you can probably get away with it.

Cause there is a warning on them that if you smell gas, do not use the phone to call the gas company, go to a neighbors and do so.

Just got one for a mother-in-law suite we did. It's installed outside, which I assume is to code. There is a big warning label on the outside stating the above. I assume then there is some sort of pilot or ignition that could fail.

It looks like a Chinese Knock off a Marey water heater. Marey's installation instructions are for mounting inside.

From Marey: Install it anywhere, because you don't need an electrical connection. The ignition is battery-powered. Popular uses are for RV, food trucks, remote cabin, pool and poolhouse shower, barn, dog kennel, small cottage in the country.

Yea it's some unbranded knock off that I would assume works the same as
Marey

The same thing would apply to your stove, water heater, furnace, gas logs, etc. all items located inside the house.

With proper venting I don't think installing it in a bath house would be a problem. You could install a carbon monoxide detector if it makes you sleep better at night but carbon monoxide makes you sleep pretty sound too
