And its savage so it will be affordable.

interesting...that handguard looks phenomenal (and almost identical to the one on the the DD V7s....good) and the receivers look nice. I expected a POS to be honest, this might be surprisingly nice at the right price point

I think grabagun accidentally listed specs. It's a 20 inch .308 with a blackhawk blaze trigger, and magpul prs3. It's right under $2k as well.

A little bit more because of the side charge design, the handguard, and billet receivers. Expecting something like 949.99 if it's an AR15 and 1699.99 if it's an AR10

Like cars, the debut of the first model should skipped. Let them work out the bugs.

The Patrol model is interesting to me because it's kind of an "in between" AR. Not quite entry level with all of its features but not quite high end because of lack of features. I think as long the quality is good, they'll sell pretty well.

Good God who ever was in charge of aesthetics for the 5.56 one should be sweating. That furniture is hideous. The grip looks like the bastard love child of a glock and mako grip. The stock reminds me of the Roger's Super Stock, but maybe like the first draft, so just Roger's Stock. And that handguard looks like it was designed by a blind person who touch a Magpul MOE handguard once and sketched this from memory. Also, they took a complete failure of a play out of Colt's Expanse playbook by capping the forward assist hole instead of dropping the whopping $4 for the FA, spring and roll pin. WTF is up with that muzzle device? Is it the world's smallest linear comp or an A2 birdcage timed sideways to get that sweet right hand compensation. Speaking of the barrel, 4140 instead of 4150, really? ARFCOM is going to shite when they read about this! These MFers want to know which forest the lumber came from used to build their house and who sawed it. You're going to try to sneak 4140 barrels past them? The whole gun just shows a complete lack of paying attention to the market you are jumping in.

pretty much all of this. what an epic fail on that 5.56 rifle. you're pretty much correct about that grip - it's probably some blackhawk bullshite grip that Vista made them use. that handguard is pretty much the worst thing I've ever seen - and i didnt think it was possible to get worse than the SA Saint handguard. and the 4140
FYI for those not in the industry - think of all the companies that make cheap or shitty products in the outdoor industry: blackhawk, tasco, stevens, uncle mike's etc. They're all owned by vista outdoors, as is Savage, so they share a lot of garbage parts/accessories between the brands, which explains this shitty 5.56 gun
that being said, the billet receivers look good and the handguards on the Hunter and Long Range variants are pretty dope, even though they are direct ripoffs of the Daniel Defense bolt-up design (just missing that steel plate). cant stop laughing at that grip though
