Does anybody have a pair they absolutely love? Just doing some post-Harvey work in Houston, I realized that my old arse Academy boots and doing the trick. I'm willing to spend money for a good pair, but I also don't want to pay the big bucks for some shitty ones.
Currently have my eye on these. I like the way Wolverine boots tend to look, but maybe they suck balls. I know nothing.

I like Timberland Pros and Red Wings.

My timberland pros are waterproof. Pretty good boot for every day wear. I just ordered some new insoles for them after having them a year

If Sumlin comes up missing, this might be the first clue

I'll second Timberlands. I have some timberland waterproof hiking boots that have held up extremely well as work boots

I had a pair of Georgia mud dog steel toes. They were the most comfortable SHOE I've ever owned, much less boot.

I've had good luck with the Georgia Mud Dogs. I had the lace up pair and now have a slip on pair, both got the job done.

I've tried several different types and brands but I always seem to go back to Ariat H2O work hog composite toes.

I've had 2 pairs of these and I've had no complaints. I've come to prefer the hiker style because I like the ankle support (I used to have to hike hillsides and mountainsides for work).

Although, I have seen some boots similar to those in the OP and they looked like the composite toe version was crazy light.

Vasque makes a good waterproof hiking boot that might be a good outdoor working boot as well.
