Anyone have any recommendations for some bank spots? Bring the kiddos etc.

We've been to calcasieu point a few times. Boat isn't very feasible at this point so I was wanting to teach em.

Thanks

Thanks ill look up the old settlement. Not neededing anything this weekend just in general.

We've been deciding between and 3/4 ton and camper, boat, big woods game preserve membership, or remodel the kitchen and sale our house.

In the meantime I'd like to take em saltwater fishing. Enjoy them outdoorsm

Thanks

For May-August, this is pretty much the only answer from Grand Isle to Baffin Bay.

on the West Side:
1. Choupique Bayou has a couple of spots on either side you can get to.
2. Intracoastal Park under the Ellender Bridge.
3. Couple places in Hackberry where you can get to Black Lake Bayou or the Ship Channel.
4. Sabine NWR has a few spots on both sides of the road for bank fishing and crabbing; Hog Island Gully, West Cove. Walking trail near HQ goes to the lake.
5. Holly Beach to Johnson's Bayou in the surf if not too rough.
6. Ship shannel from the Ferry landing all the way down is a pretty good spot.

East side is harder to get to, but has access along the ship channel near the ferry, fred's lounge area, and Calcasieu Point.

Up north there's a park under the 210 bridge, along w some spots on Lake Charles.

Hows GI surf fishing been? What about holly beach? Thinking about taking a week off for R&R + surf fishing.

Dad went a couple of weeks ago and saw them catching on the GI beach just to the west of where the breakers start. No idea on Holly Beach, but I would bet everything from Ft. Morgan to Galveston is still muddy from Cindy. I would wait a week.

Thanks for the reply. I'll navigate via Google Earth. I forgot about the park at intercoastal.

I did look at the old settlement for the pier as mentioned earlier but did not see one.

Anyone ever fish in that corner by calcasieu lock road near black bayou bridge? Looks like a nice pull in you can fish from in that little turnaround.

Thanks

Hey envy. Went down there today. Had some damage from the storm that'll need repaired so we did not get to fish it. Looks like a great place though with spots for my kids to hang crab lines.

Thanks for the heads up. It was hard to notice. Took me a little bit of driving around to spot it
