OTOH, if you're looking for a cc gun, you may not like the double stack XD's; the XDs is the only single stack mag in the series, but it's more of a cc gun, not home defense/range gun (and is chambered only in 45 ACP)

Agreed. If you have the opportunity to feel how comfortable single-stack guns are for carry, you may change your mind about what you want. I feel there is a purpose for every size, and while a full size can be carried concealed, it's much easier to conceal something small. But in the home, you may as well stack the cards in your favor with a full-sized, full-capacity handgun (or shotgun).

While we're discussing pistol purchases, I'm also looking at buying one. I've got it narrowed down to two options. What do you guys think?

Go HiPoint. They have a lifetime warranty and it's hard to pull prints off that plastic they are made out of.

XD 40 is exactly what i bought for my first one... stunning quality. i've put 3 different bullet types in my mag before and dump clip in about 2-3 seconds.. can NOT get it to jam up.

-unbelievable- gun. 5 star recommendation. and i have zero issues aiming with any of the bullets i've purchased.

It depends on what bullet slinger you're using. A Ruger LCP isn't nearly as fun to shoot as a Walther PK380.

I thought the OB was better than this...

EDIT: At least you said "mag" before you said "clip." I'll give you some leeway on my sarcastic remark...
