Lift Kit Suggestion: Silverado/Sierra

Hey guys, I'm not looking for anything crazy or anything. I just got a 1999 GMC Sierra Z71 and it's bone stock. A guy I work with has a 2500HD Sierra which is also bone stock, and i like the way it sits/stands whatever you wanna call it. How tall of a lift would i need to have mine look similar to his without having to pay for a 2500HD...
here's some pics for reference...
Z71
2500HD
i noticed it's mostly the body that sits higher because of the gap between the bumper and the grill so it may just be a 2.5" body lift. what do y'all think?

A 2500hd has heavier duty leafs and torsion bars than a 1500, that's why it sits higher. Turn your torsion bar bolts tighter to make it level, and see how you like it
A quality body lift will come with bumper relocating brackets. Keep in mind that only the body will go up. The frame will still be the same height.
Don't waste your money on torsion keys or whatever they call them. They do nothing

Dang, I already bout some off eBay for $60 with shock extenders. I read somewhere that tightening the existing keys could lower the riding quality.

All they allow you to do is over-tighten them. You do not need longer shocks if you crank your torsion bars. It will lower ride quality

The body also sits roughly 1.5" higher on the HD trucks over a half ton.

Don't get a body lift. Even the best ones look like shite
Have the front end leveled and re-aligned and go with that. The 3/4 ton is just an all around bigger truck. Bigger axles, bigger springs, bigger frame, bigger looks.
A good (superlift) 3" lift looks really good and isn't terrible expensive.

Avoid body lifts. They look weird.
Just get a 1.5" suspension lift. That looks great on the half tons and it maintains the stock rake.
