I have posted about this before, one last time. My Liberty Fat Boy Jr flooded in August. I drained it and aired it out for days and thought I was fine. I opened the safe today and removed the door panel to grease the S&G lock because it was getting gritty. I have mold and with a newborn, its getting tossed.

TigerRver told me in another thread that a Liberty dealer will sell me a new one at 25% below dealer cost. My local dealer is Mike Wards. Does anyone have any experience with this, or can recommend another dealer that will help me?

Barf, you had mentioned that you may be interested in purchasing a safe in said condition. I might need help pricing what mine is worth, if you're interested. IceCreamSammich@hotmail.com

Thanks for yalls help. I thought I was past finding crap ruined by the flood and this was a kick in the nuts.

I have zero experience with this, but is there not a way to clean/neutralize the mold?

Other that that is the safe functioning properly?

Did you call Mike Ward's? They know all the details and will handle your transaction for a replacement. You have to go through a dealer. You can't do it on your own.

I have not called Mike yet. I was hoping to know exactly how it works and make sure that Mike Wards participated in the 25% below that you told me before. I plan on using them, if I can.

I do not want the safe. I had a strict "mold" policy. If it had mold, or could grow mold, it's gone. I am being 150% over protective for my little girl.

Someone else could strip the sheet rock and carpet and have a brand new safe. The mechanisms work perfectly. I greased the dial and its butter again.

I called Liberty immediately after the flood, before the replacement deal was announced, and they told me to immediately strip the safe, dry the interior while opened, and spray the wet metal with oil. Now I have an empty metal box, but it can be refurbished with Sheetrock and felt. So I'll end up with 2 safes for the price of 1.5.

Liberty is also now offering interior rebuild kits, but you have to order through your dealer.

I stripped mine before it molded. I guess you could get the correct mold PPE and strip it now. Just be careful. All that's inside is sheetrock and felt.
