I'll be curious to see if there are family/political connections between the people awarded the contracts and who administered the program.

They should have to fish the contract if it was awarded to them.

And they should have to bid on the shares. This absolutely reeks of crony capitalism because it's a blatant example of crony capitalism.

I can't believe Buddy actually had the balls to do this interview. Shows just what the mindset of these people is. These are my fish, because I greased a politicians hand 10 years ago, and you're lucky to get any of them.

I have followed and fought this crap for years now with Red Snapper.

The only viable option is to make red snapper game fish in all the southern states.

I use to stand by the red snapper commercial fisherman with lets just split it 50/50... np. But screw them now. All their dishonest lobbying. I don't want them to have ANY!

Will never happen, too much money on the line. Restaurant lobbies don't care how the fish get to them, and this system provides them with cheap fish year round. They plus the major shareholders are the ones who fought to put this system in place.

The assholes behind all of this is the Environmental Defense Fund. They paid commercial fisherman to stack all of the NMFS meeting to make it look like Recs were in the minority or didn't care so much. You know while you were at work!

Can't recall the name right now but the commercial fisherman even started an organization with a name that makes it sound like they are recreational fisherman. Disingenuous to the Hillary Clinton level.

I watched that last night. Pretty messed up the way that works out. Ole boy from Slidell is paying $3.50 a pound to catch something that he makes $5.50 a pound on. He has to foot all the expenses while the snapper baron pockets $3.50#..... doesn't seem like a good plan to me.
