i have an echo leaf blower, starts fine, runs great on idle, enough to blow leaves and grass if close enough. problem is, when i pull the throttle, it doesn't change the rpms and stays at idle speed. doesn't die or anything, just no change. any thoughts?

well, trace the throttle cable to where it meets the carburetor and see if it is actually moving something there...

I had a hedge trimmer that wouldn't throttle up the other day. They took off the exhaust and the spark arrester was completely clogged. They cleaned it with a wire brush and screwed it back on and it runs like a champ now.
They said it was caused by mixing too much oil in the gas.

Spark arrester? if that is the wire screen that goes over the exhaust take it off and throw it away problem solved. It's a safety feature that is not necessary.

It should be a linkage bar that connects from the throttle trigger to the carb if you are talking about a hand held unit here. I have two Echo blowers, one is over 13 years old and still runs but that linkage has popped off a few times if it got bumped just right. The newer one I have is only about 3 years old and has a slightly different link, I don't think it would come loose unless the blower was dropped from a roof.

throttle shaft was stuck. turned with needle nose pliers and freed it up. thanks for the input.
