We usually stay somewhat close to the area by my camp to fish. Been doing really well around Turtle bay/, Bay long and Three Bayou Bay area all summer with reds. Mostly on weedless gold spoons.

With the wind laying down all week I'm anticipating really clean water this weekend. Also should have really good tide range.

We're skipping the hunting this weekend

Ran out into the bays looking for trout. Plenty of birds working.

Do you mind me asking where?

I am not familiar with the area. So I can't say exactly where. But I think we ran S or SW from the wall. We went out into a big bay that had a crappy looking rusted barge with 3 or 4 large tanks on it. Ran right past that and found the birds working in an open bay maybe less than a mile S or SW of that tank barge.

The guide said it was the best sign of trout he had seen in a while and he was thinking about advising his Sat morning trip to be right there at daylight in the morning as opposed to at the Wall looking for redfish. As there will be 50 plus boats at the wall on a weekend. And we had that big bay all to ourselves on the trout.

Yea. Sounds like he ran through Harvey's cut and into little lake. I know they have have some structures right outside the cut that fits the description.

That's the first reports I've heard of the trout moving in. Appreciate the info

Haven't fished Lafitte in years... is The Wall shoreline protection in Bayou Rigolets? Looked on Google Earth...actually thought it was rocked protection.

Yeah. It's a concrete panel wall. Not rocks.
