The GF and I went down to the Keys in the middle of August. We rented an Air BnB on Big Pine Key where the Key Deer live. It was a very cool experience. Tiny, dog sized deer, that were totally used to human interaction. Just an overall great thing to see.

The Key Deer are on the endangered species list (probably because of limited habitat) and this storm is currently pounding their little range.

(That's Key West all the way on the west end)

They are wild animals and have been there for thousands of years but I am sure this storm will have a huge impact on them

I've stayed on Big Pine Key before. Neat place. Prayers sent for the Key Deer.
