Got it from a pawn shop in Cuthbert, GA. I didn't want to buy it but it was too good of a deal. An update of pics will be coming soon. It's got a pretty nice camo job on it. Can't wait for turkey season.

ETA: pics as promised...

The 2 letters on the barrel are OA so that would put it in July of 2006.

At least it is a pre-freedom group gun

How much of a difference does that make?

Should have put that towards an Outlander, youd have been happier in the end.

General consensus is that pre-freedom group guns are fantastic and are the guns that you should think of when you hear Remington. The post-buyout guns have had horrendous qc issues especially finishes. My friend bought one in 2011 and after 2 months in the closet, it had a bunch of rusting spots. In contrast, my uncle kept my grandfathers old Remington 1100 in a soft case in a garage in Lafayette for like 10 years (this was a 1980's 1100 that my grandpa left when he left the country) and there was not a single sign of any rust. The 1100 had been through some nasty weather too.

Hmmm... I guess that's why people have knocked the new Marlin 336 then, eh? Makes sense.
