Jugline weights - how many oz?

I'm looking to run some jugs in a tidal canal on the flats (5 ft flats with a very deep middle channel) and let them soak overnight. How much weight would y'all put on the bottom? I expect to lose a couple, but trying to minimize losses. I'm totally new to juglining for catfish, so I'll take any tips that I can get.
Thanks
Thanks

Not sure how much they weigh but took some 16oz plastic cups and filled them with concrete with an ibolt sticking out the top.
Ive set them in some canals with decent current and caught some pretty big cats over night and have never had them move on me.

10-4
That also sounds about $100 cheaper than buying lead at the equivalent weight.

Sure is. Also makes use of some of those plastic cups we accumulate over the years. Good luck.

I do the same thing but in the place of eye bolts I get solid copper wire, cut it about 8" long fold it in half. After you fill all your cups with concrete stick it in the cup. I've never pulled a wire out. I did 50 cups with a 40lb of concrete.

Did the exact same never had a problem also use them during duck season to hold a couple a couple of clusters of coot decoys that I keep out during the season.

Red solo cup filled with concrete eye bolt out of the top I know its prolly over kill but I put a nut with a alrge flat washer on the bottom of the bolt pour the concrete first then wiggle the bolt down to desired height. Used foir years soin jug lines and trot lines. neva considered the weight but it works great.

I don’t know, how much does a spark plug weigh? Or a conduit 90? Or 4-5 random nuts?

just curious, are these jugs with the concrete weights something yall are putting in current and want it to anchor? I use an egg weigh up (i buy whatever size it looks like my string will fit through) and hook down after a swivel. I'm not running them in current, though. I toss em out and let em drift.

16 oz cup cement method has worked for me in the intercostal and Lake Verret.

Railroad spike fits inside noodle we use after wrap line around noodle for good storage.

I fish in the Intracoastal, it's not the current it's the tugboats that get you.

So say you are in an area that is 10 foot deep, is the setup a line tied to the concrete that is roughly 12' deep tied to a float and then you tie a circle hook roughly 4 feet down from the float?

I use beer cans, cut the top off, fill a little over half way up with cement then take some old chain around the house put two links in cement and one hanging out to tie string to.

Yep, strong currents, tides, and big boat traffic. They would end up in the gulf or way back in the marsh without a weight line.

Yep, weight line that reaches the bottom then put a hook suspended. I just tie a loop on the main weight line and piggyback a hook line onto that

find you a 5 gallon bucket and go walk the railroad tracks picking up old railroad spikes. all the weight u will need. cheap too.

You just tie it around the head?
