Just bought a house in Waveland, closer to the beaches than the Jourdan River. Would like to bring the boat soon and do some riding on the River. Looking for some launching options on the river closer to I-10. Will be launching a 20 ft bass boat.

Diamondhead Marina is close to I-10

Also there is Cedar Point Boat Launch if you trailer all the way down Beach Blvd. close to the casino. This would be in BSL and yo wouldn't have to go down 603 to I-10. Would cut down on trailer time.

There's a nice one on hwy 603. Never launched there but have a house nearby and always see people. Everything looks new.

+1 on this. I haven’t launched either but every time I pass it there are always folks using it, and looks very clean.

That looks like the same place where "The Cave" was. It was an old bar in an igloo looking building.

As Saskwatch said, there’s one right behind the casino where the Jourdan River hits the Bay - Cedar Point boat launch (just a backdown ramp). Just take the road that runs along the bay (N. Beach Blvd.) and it’s at the end of that road. My parents have a place on the Jourdan since the ‘90s. When I wasn’t launching from their house, I’d launch at Cedar Point to fish the Bay for reds.

There is also a nice ramp at the Lazy Gator restaurant (I believe it may have been renamed). I have a RV at Bay Marina and the launch is fine but there is a long idle to the river...I don't mind it personally but just FYI.

It is and thanks for mentioning the name, I forgot it the other day when I passed the spot. Drank a few beers there back in the mid 2000s.

I’d hit the one on 603 or near the mouth of the river at the end of north beach blvd as stated earlier. By the time you drive to diamondhead it’d be a waste of time. Also if you launch at the Hollywood (end of north beach blvd) you can take cutoff bayou that will put you out right by I-10.

How far up the river do you need to go before it is considered "fresh" water?

You can also launch at McCleod State park on texas flat. It puts you in just up from the steamer and it’s maybe a 15 min ride to I-10 from there

Around I-10. Depending on rain fall that line will move.
