Kicked the idea, but way to windy for deer hunting. I always found that deer will lay down in the wind.

Marion, KY
Ground Box over corn field with heater pumping
30 degrees and dropping.
6" of snow since dark yesterday
270 Win T3 Lite

I saw over 30 deer out if this set yesterday afternoon with half being bucks. The rut is on and it should be a lot of fun the next couple of hours.

Good luck fellas

It is real nice. I'm taking pics and will upload when I either fill my tag or get home.

This little pecker wood came in on me a few short minutes after rattling yesterday around 4pm:

Notice the corn stalk hanging from his mouth:

That same field now has 6" of snow and more pics to come after daylight. I also got several minutes of video of bucks sizing each other up in this field yesterday.

Cool.

Got a chance to watch a couple bucks fight Saturday morning. Dead phone and no pictures or video.

What's the average size killed where you're at?

We are with an outfitter that has a 130" minimum. I watched this scrapper for about 15 minutes earlier.

Still sipping on coffee, trying to talk myself into going this evening. Wind forecast shows it to be calming down later this afternoon.

I got my permission slip signed and the truck is loaded, still unsure if I should go.

GO - you have no chance to kill sitting at house with coffee.

Find some oaks and hunker down till dark. Good luck!

I made it out.

Melville La
46°
NNW wind @ 16
Setup along slough bottom with the 45-70 sitting in my Browning chair

Glad I came. Checked all of our cameras. Since Thursday evening 8 new bucks have shown up in 2 of our 3 areas including another shooter 8 point that's running with a borderline 7. Both deer are nice and wide. Real good for our area.

It's still way early for rut activity here but this cold weather has them feeling frisky. Got many pics of sparring and running around.

you wont be sorry - even if you don't shoot a deer, nice afternoon to be in the woods. Post update later and good luck!
