That sucks, but should be a damn fine morning to be in the woods. About to wake up little bootlegger...gotta take him for his 2 month shots this morning, and I'm not looking forward to it

38° and windy. A strong gust every now and then.
Was going to get down about 0930 but saw the arse end of a deer while I was picking up my shite. So I’ll be here til I shoot something or til I gotta go to work tonight

I think it’ll be about 2.5 mL of acetaminophen every 4-6 hours if I recall correctly. Those “little remedies” worked just as good as the big name brand stuff until they can hit the Motrin. Of course, I’m no doctor, so see what they say.

He and his momma cried during, but he passed out when we got back in the car. He seems good now, hopefully no fever or anything later

Now, to get back to trying to weasel my way into being able to hunt the rifle opener this weekend......

He’ll be good boot. Give little boot a small dose of Tylenol before bedtime and he’ll sleep like a rock.

Thanks. Shot a doe at 6:30, trying to do a little thinning and I've never killed one when it was snowing. Snow already gone when I took the picture.

Lock-on on the edge of an old, thick cutover looking down a fire lane

Just like old school completely exposed to the elements.
Well, almost. At least now I’ve been able to afford good, warm clothes from head to toe.
Back in the 90s I used to literally freeze my butt off...and feet, and hands, and ears, and legs...

Ran off a doe and two yearlings as I approached the stand.

Had another doe and yearling pop up at 5, but the doe spooked within seconds.
