I got in here early this morning and haven't seen anything all day. My wife and mother-in-law are at my house. I'll stay here until I see something or I get notification that the mother-in-law has left my house.

It's probably going to be a long wait.

Made my first hunt this evening. Just went into an area for a bit of spot and stalk hunting, and found a water oak with a lot of sign around it and acorns on the ground. Found a spot in some palmettos about 30 yards from the tree, but not the greatest visibility. I was sitting over a drain that the tree was dropping acorns in, so I could see into it just fine. Well, wouldn't you know a damn doe comes into that tree, and I moved just a bit and that darn deer went to blowing her head off.

Don't think she saw me or smelled me. I think I just made a bit too much noise and she hauled arse. Gonna go back Friday with my stand and get up in a tree over that spot and hope she's got a boyfriend or a side of bacon hanging around.

Have to hand it to you fellas, I admire yalls passion. I’m hardcore hunter, especially bow but it’s too damn hot for me. I guess I’m not as mad at them anymore. I used to always hunt the beginning of bow season because it’s easier to pattern that big buck and they haven’t had pressure applied to them yet. I’ll still make a couple bow hunts in October.

Last year it seemed almost every morning from November to January I was posting the IST/ IBT threads for the day because I get in my stands super early and am always excited to get in a tree that I always wake up well before my alarm.

Good luck to all of y’all and be safe out there. I look forward to our threads once the weather gets cooler and I start hunting heavy.
