Ground blind off Big Black River. Montgomery County Ms
Gonna end the season right where I started it. Not expecting to shoot anything but would be ok with it. Had to come get all my stuff out of the woods anyway.
Good luck

This has been the most miserable deer season I can remember. It rained every weekend. Hot temps until the season was almost over. They started cutting timber on us December 17 and were supposed to be in 2 weeks. The rain slowed it down to where they finished last week. Little Rio killed his first buck and a doe early in the year so that’s where our fun stopped

The overall weather patterns during the season have been so wet.

We haven’t had many breaks for rain. The last day of the season here is on February 10th.

Good luck OB.
I came into the office today. First time I haven't hunted on the last day in years. But between the warm weather, rain, water coming up on half the club and forcing us to all hunt and pressure one section for a good chunk of the season, (and going 0-For on the deer killing this year ) I've just about burn't myself out on it this year. Counting squirrel season I've been in the woods pretty much every weekend and a lot of weekdays every week since October, I'm about ready for a break. I hate to see hunting season go but I don't mind watching it leave this year

But give me about a month and I'll be chomping at the bit counting down to thunder chicken time.

We didn't have it too bad in North Louisiana. I hunted almost every weekend plus the entire week of Thanksgiving and only sat in the rain a few times. Overall my son and I had a very good season.

Back at it again after not seeing anything this morning. Decided to save the 444 a little early and pick the bow up again. Setup my loc on over pile of rice bran. Been having tons of pics, bucks and does, hopefully can make something bleed. Had a bobcat walk 20 yards through the thick stuff. Second time I seen him in the past week.

Buck forage oat plot in overgrown field next to 10 year old pine plantation

Always biter sweet.. For me it’s a good evening to reflect and thank the man upstairs for blessing us with the opportunity to be able to live in a country that allows us to do what we all love to do. Just thinking about all the things I have been blessed with just to be able to sit in this deer stand and enjoy nature. There are people who don’t have the physical or financial or locational means to be doing what we are doing right now. And for that we are blessed.
