If you have a hose on it and earmuffs you're already pressuring up the water jacket. You probably have a plug bug in the pisser line.

Try it without the thermostat or something.

I'd bet money it's plugged. It worked months ago, not yesterday.

Well, more than likely

He gone.

YouTube lower unit disassembly.

Changing most H2O pumps on outboard motors is a pretty cheap and easy task to DIY.

Well it might be shot. Pretty easy fix. Probably needs to be changed anyway.

Get you some of these for $5 on amazon

And check your impeller in the lower unit before replacing the water pump. Often enough the rubber dry rots and doesn't function properly. My pops used to make me do it once a year as maintenance (so I didn't burn up his black anchor)

Rebuild the water pump yourself. If you have any desire to fix or maintain your motor yourself, this is a great novice project. It is almost monkey-proof easy and you will learn something. Depending on your motor, the only thing that you may screw up is the shift rod. But then you can learn how to adjust that and you will have learned two things. While you are down there, change your lower unit oil and that will be three things off the list.

if the motor is on the muffs or on the flush port, the cooling system is pressurized.
You could take the pump impeller out and water would still come out of the pee hole.
Remove the hose from the pee hole and unclog whatever is clogging it.
