If I lived out west and was looking for a high speed trail rig, sure...
Otherwise, I'd rather have a non raptor f150. I wish they offered the engine in a normal suspension model.

3 dudes, 2 girl. If I told you where we went and came from it'll even sound more trashy then rolling 5 deep in a Tacoma. We were on Siegen lane so you probably could figure it out.

A guy in my building just traded his 15 model for the new one. He also drives a Range Rover which is also in our garage. The raptor just sits backed in a space looking "cool" while he spends most of his commutes in the RR.

I guess I could be the middle aged crisis dude then. I almost bought one back in 2015 but pulled the trigger on a Tundra instead. Sure glad I did not buy after reading this.

The Raptor isn't designed for drag racing on the street. It's designed for driving fast in the desert. Change the asphalt to dirt a throw in some corners and anything else on the market will be left far behind. There is no better stock desert runner on the market. This has been proven time and time again. I could throw an STi turbo on a stock Subaru Baja and leave the Taco or Raptor in the dust on the road. Doesn't mean it's a better truck.

I'll simply add that my boss got a Raptor that topped out at $74K. He is neither a mud/dirt driver nor is he insecure or having a crisis (I assure you he pays people to have those for him). Its a nice truck- looks sharp and has lots of gadgets. Boss swears it is the smoothest thing hes ever driven.

I'm guessing you each get two days a week with a floater for Sunday?

the smoothest riding truck on the road is a ram limited. there's not even a close second. it's just that not many are open to driving them.

I just bought a Ram 2500 laramie with the diesel for that. You can find a better truck than a raptor for 50k and simultaneously avoid looking like a douche.

I lined up against one on Siegen lane in my buddy'a v6 Tacoma with 5 people in it and we blew the 6.2 raptor off the line and through second gear.
Either the guy wasn't getting on it or you're lying. 411HP vs 235HP LOL. The raptor has a 4.10 rear end gear ratio. It would blow that Tacoma off the road without much trouble.

If you want a truck that's a beast off-road, then I don't think you'll find a stock truck better than the Raptor. But if you don't plan on leaving the pavement, Raptor probably isn't best option.
Base MSRP is right around $50k. Not really a deal...but probably about the best you can expect because Ford dealerships don't really negotiate on the Raptor

The raptors have eveolved slightly FWIW, combined with bad driving, he might be somewhat true

Well quarter mile time are similar. I have owned a 2010 6.2L. I now have a taco. This taco wouldn't stand a chance if I'm driving both.

Didn't know they had tiered packages of Raptors. Never really looked into them. Thought a Raptor was a Raptor and they were all 70ish. Definitely wouldn't get a base Raptor for 50k if I could get a Platinum or KR for a couple grand more.

All the Raptors have the same engine/trans/susp/exterior/etc.
Then they have the upgrade packages with the things like leather seats, navigation, upgraded sound system, backup cameras, parking sensors, trailer backup assist, and so-on. The base Raptor with no options runs around $50k at MSRP but you could get to $70k fully loaded.
